Patriotic Party Mix

Let me just start by publicly apologizing to my mom. Every year around Christmas she makes a white chocolate party mix that honestly, I have never liked. If I'm going to eat something with the word chocolate in the name, it better be dark. As I was trying to think of another sweet snack to take to 4th of July parties this weekend, I kept coming back to how festive my mother's Christmas party mix turned patriotic themed party mix would be. This party mix is the perfect combination of sweet and salty and I am glad I gave white chocolate/almond bark a second chance.

Ingredients

- 6c corn chex

- 6c cheerios

- 6c waffle pretzels

- 1c red, white and blue peanut M&Ms

- 1c red, white and blue peanut butter M&Ms

- 24oz almond bark

- Red, white and blue sprinkles

Directions

1. Combine the corn chex, cheerios, pretzels, and peanut/peanut butter M&Ms in a large bowl (I divided the recipe in two and made it in separate bowls to make it easier to mix).

2. Melt the almond bark over medium-low heat. If using two separate bowls, pour half of the almond bark over one batch and half over the second batch.

3. Add red, white and blue sprinkles.

4. Using a rubber scraper, fold almond bark into cereal mixture until coated.

5. Line baking sheets with parchment paper. Transfer party mix onto lined baking sheets and let air-dry for 1-2 hours.

6. Once dried, place party mix in airtight containers.
